The purpose of this diet is to treat patients suffering from hypercholesterolemia, however, this diet is recommended to be implemented in our lifestyle regardless of whether we have problems with cholesterol or not. The diet plan is designed to reduce cholesterol levels and promote heart health by adding certain cholesterol-lowering foods.
    2. My recommendation would be to encourage nutrient-dense foods such as fruits and nuts while replacing certain foods in the diet with other ingredients that have been shown to lower cholesterol. For example, replace meat and dairy products with soy proteins such as tofu, soy milk.
    3. Not many people manage to keep this restrictive vegetarian diet for several months in a row, precisely because of limiting the consumption of sugar from the various products that we used to consume later, being necessary to replace them with products less rich in sugars or even to we give up that type of food altogether.
    4. Dukan diet

    The Dukan diet consists of eating products with a large amount of protein and a limited amount of carbohydrates.
    One of the benefits of this diet is that it has no restrictions in terms of menu. Even if the food groups that can be consumed are in a smaller number, they can be consumed in any quantity.

      I would recommend the Portfolio diet to anyone who wants to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease or stoke except those with an allergy to tree nuts or with a history of eating disorders or disordered eating.

      2.What would be a recommendation you would make regarding this diet?
      Considering this diet includes many foods that are higher in carbohydrates, people watching their blood sugars should balance their plates with lower carbohydrate plant proteins, nuts, and vegetables while enjoying servings of whole grains and fruits.

      3.Are there difficult aspects to follow?
      For people who cannot say no to sweets and snacks it might be a huge challenge to limit their meals that are high in saturated fat or added sugar. This kind of foods tap into the brain’s reward system, triggering the release of dopamine, the same signalling chemical that makes people feel pleasure when they get enough food, have sex or use certain drugs.

      4.Do you know other such hospital diets? Present one
      I present a Low fiber diet for Diverticulitis.

      Diverticulosis in the colon is where segments of the colon pushes out into pouches called diverticula. A diet high on fiber promotes regular bowel movements and prevents diverticulitis. Anyway, during flares of diverticulitis you need to reduce the frequency of stools so you need a diet low on fiber (usually 10-15 grams of fiber per day) until your flares subside. Once symptoms resolve, gradually add high fiber foods one by one back into the diet (goal is to reach 30-35 grams of fiber per day).

      The diet consists of small frequent meals throughout the day (4-6 meals/day). Aim to always include multiple food groups at each meal for a well-balanced diet as following: baked, broiled, grilled or steamed meats/poultry/fish, low lactose dairy, milk alternatives (almond, coconut, rice, soy), creamy nut butters, tofu, grains made with refined wheat, lots of fruits like applesauce, avocado, banana, canned fruits (drain the syrup), lemon, lime, melons, cooked vegetables, fruit and vegetables juices and sugar free deserts.
