ReplyDelete1. Me: What made you become a vegetarian?
Person: The point is, I'm sorry about animals, meaning I can't think of killing an animal just to "survive."
Me: Is that the only reason?
Person: Another reason would be that it is much healthier, especially if you know what you are doing.
Me: What changes have you noticed since adopting this vegetarian diet? Both physical and moral.
Person: Physically a lot has changed, I have become much more energetic and optimistic, I feel much more productive and able to do as many things as possible, in addition, I have started to look much better. And morally, I feel happy thinking that an animal didn't have to die just to survive.
Me: How would you advise a person on a normal diet to give up meat? What would you tell him?
Person: Well, first of all, people who have a normal diet should not be forced to follow your diet, the beginning of a vegetarian diet starts from the inside. If he wants to go on a vegetarian diet, I advise him to see a nutritionist and make a wide range of foods, given that vegetables and fruits do not have large amounts of protein and fat.

ReplyDeleteMiley Cyrus decided to adopt a vegan lifestyle in 2014 after her dog's death, Floyd, becoming one of the most implicated celebrity in promoting the vegan concepts. She even got a tattoo with The Vegan Society‘s sunflower logo! Nevertheless, after seven years of following a plant-based diet, wearing exclusively animal-free fashion and sharing her vegan values with millions of fans, she no longer identifies as vegan, and is now pescatarian. In September 2020, she revealed on the “Joe Rogan Experience” podcast that she now consumes fish after experiencing neurological issues. Since quitting veganism, the pop star has received a backlash from the vegan community, but she admitted that she is still a vegan at heart and I think it is possible to consume animals — for certain reasons — and still "be vegan."

Beyoncé has shared a video detailing the vegan lifestyle she followed to improve her health and fitness prior to her 2018 Coachella performance.
ReplyDeleteThe singer posted a video to her YouTube channel titled “22 Days Nutrition” which documents her eating and workout regime ahead of her long-anticipated performance at the festival.
During the mini-documentary, Beyoncé worked with her personal trainer, Marco Borges – the singer’s personal trainer and New York Times Best Selling author – who helped devise a plant-based eating plan to help the mother-of-three and her backing dancers form healthy habits during their busy rehearsal schedules.
The documentary states that the singer followed the 22-day programme for 44 days “to meet her goals” for her headlining festival slot.
According to Beyoncé’s website, the nutrition plan is “based on the principle of creating healthier habits by moving towards a plant-based lifestyle”.
In the video, Borges explains that the Lemonade singer and her team were going to “100 per cent plant-based” ahead of the performance.
“We know the power of vegetables, we know the power of plants, we know the power of foods that are unprocessed,” says the trainer in a voiceover while a montage of someone preparing plant-based foods plays."

ReplyDeleteEmily Deschanel , a vegan of 25 years, first became vegetarian “on the spot” after watching the 1991 documentary “Diet for a New America,” based on the 1987 bestselling book by John Robbins, the heir to the Baskin-Robbins fortune. After the screening, she was further convinced by a debate between doctors on whether meat and dairy are healthy. About two years later, at age 17, she adopted a plant-based diet.
The “Bones” star went on to talk about how while health is important, the animals were always the driving factor behind her veganism. Today, Deschanel is active in the community; she is a board member of Farm Sanctuary — the largest haven for rescued farm animals in the nation — and regularly participates in fundraising events. She also regularly promotes pet adoption.
Last September, she helped raise $1.2 million for the animal rights non-profit, Mercy for Animals. She is also an investor in Outstanding Foods, which makes vegan mushroom bacon chips.
On the '' Switch4Good''' podcast launched by Olympic Silver medalist Dotsie Bausch she also talked about at length about her experience raising two young vegan kids and living with a not-quite-vegan husband.

Venus Williams wasn’t always vegan, but made the transition to a plant-based diet after being diagnosed with Sjögren’s syndrome, an autoimmune disease that includes symptoms like joint pain, swelling and stiffness.
DeleteTo help ease the inflamation in her body, Williams decided to try a vegan diet. She says that going plant-based wasn’t an easy transition, especially since she “went from zero to 1,000” when shifting her diet. She says, “It was such a long journey, and I feel like it’s a journey that I’m constantly on, trying new things and quite honestly making mistakes and eating the wrong things.”
Through experimentation and listening to her body, Williams says she learned to limit her sugar and gluten intake. She also offers a key piece of advice for others looking to follow a plant-based diet: Educate yourself. https://www.eatingwell.com/article/7877271/what-venus-williams-eats-in-a-day/
Me: Why did you decide to choose this lifestyle and stop the consumption of meat/products of animal origin?
ReplyDeletePerson: Firstly, because the vegetarian/vegan diet is more colorful and it’s more diversified, in addition it’s healthier, at last but it’s not the last point, in fact I think it is the most important that God gave us, human beings this diet originally because it is the ideal.
Me: Did it cause difficulty to give up certain foods?
Person: It didn’t cause difficulty because I considered the divine principles and the health more important. I sometimes covet dairy products, then I eat some cheese or milk chocolate. The days after that I realise that it wasn’t a good idea and I should not have eaten, so I do it rare, once or twice in a year.
Me: How did your life change since you live this lifestyle?
Person: My health is better, I haven’t got migraines which I often used to have, my soul is fine, my digestion and my stool is perfect and if I keep all of the health principles I’m totally fine despite of my chronic illness. In this case nobody notices that I am sick. I am happy and I have exhilaration.
Me: What is your favourite food/recipe?
Person: I have a lot of favourite food, for example my favourite raw foods are strawberry, peach, tomato, and the cooked ones are potato puree with chickpea stew and pickle, my sister-in-law’s poppy-cherry bejgli and the vegan pizza. I have many others, but now only these came to my mind. All plants are good.

Kat Von D has been a devout vegan for most of her life and in 2015 she put misconceptions around a plant based diet to bed: "No, your hair won’t fall out - mine is healthy and shiny as hell. No, your skin doesn’t turn yellow or gray - mine’s never looked as healthy as it does now. No, if you eat right, you won’t get all skinny and weak She even has her own vegan beauty range.Kat eats a macrobiotic, vegan diet, which is a diet that focuses on eating local and seasonal foods that balance each other in harmonic ways. Some people follow this diet as a philosophy of life and others follow it for health reasons.

What is a vegan?
ReplyDeleteA vegan is a person who does not eat or use animal products. (That means no meat, fish, eggs, cheese and no use of leather goods, etc.)
Why do people in general go vegan?
Most become vegan for their own health, for animal welfare, for the environmental impact, and for the poor.
Do you get proper nutrition eating vegan?
Yes. The health benefits of a vegan diet are well-documented. Eating animals and animal products is actually unhealthy. But if you decide to go vegetarian or vegan, tell your doctor. You may need a B-12 supplement, for example, or iron.
Do you have any regrets about going vegan?
I have only one. It’s summarized in this quote: “Dear animals, I’m sorry it took me so long.”
Is there anything else you would like to say about this choice you’ve made?
Being vegan has stretched me in a good way. I’m still learning about it and transitioning
“May our daily choices be a reflection of our deepest values, and may we use our voices to speak for those who need us most, those who have no voice, those who have no choice.”
In 2013, Ariana Grande proudly announced that she’s ditching all meat products and going 100% vegan. The many celebrities that have played a role in inspiring us to go vegan, we have to say the uplifting words of Ariana Grande reverberate in our ears often.
ReplyDeleteBack in 2014, when The Mirror asked her why she went vegan, she said, “I love animals more than I love most people, not kidding. But I am a firm believer in eating a full plant-based, whole food diet that can expand your life length and make you an all-round happier person.”
Whether posting her blueberry haul on Instagram or tweeting that she’s eaten at least five strawberries a day since she can remember (“they’re my favorite food!”), it’s clear the star gets some of her sky-high energy and glowing skin from all the fruit she consumes.
In addition to talking to the media about how going vegan has helped her health and happiness, Grande also takes a stance when it comes to animal rights issues. This spring, she took to Twitter to disapprove of Tiger King’s Carle Baskin from appearing in her music video “Stuck with U,” a duet with Justin Bieber.

ReplyDeleteAlbert Apolka
Me:How long have you been a vegetarian?
Her:I am 21 years old now. I have been a vegetarian for about four years
Me:Why did you decide to become a vegetarian?
Her: I wasn't feeling very healthy. I was feeling dizzy at times, and lethargic, and had low energy. I had done some reading and come to the conclusion that a vegetarian diet was healthier all around.
Me:How did you make the change?
Her:I believe I already had a reasonably good diet. We ate some meat, but not a lot. I immediately cut out red meat, chicken and pork. I just didn't take any of the meat at the dinner table but ate the rest of the meal. For lunch I made cheese sandwiches or similar.
Me:Were your parents supportive of you becoming a vegetarian?
Her:My mother was willing to support my vegetarianism as long as she felt I was getting the appropriate nutrients. She was always willing to buy the things I asked her to as I gradually expanded my diet. My father and brothers made fun of my fish eating stage, complaining of the smell and comparing me to a seal with accompanying seal barks. I don't think my parents thought I would stick with being a vegetarian for very long.
Me:If you could give one piece of advice to new vegetarians, what would it be?
Her:Personally, given our experience and what we often hear from people it can be hard for many new vegetarians when they are out of their element – away from their personal kitchen or familiar restaurants. When you travel, it doesn’t need to be difficult but one must prepare.
I chose to ask some questions from my flatmate, who is a vegan since November 2019.
ReplyDeleteMe: Why did you became vegan?
Her: I never liked meat that much. I felt bad after eating meat, like I had a heavy stomach, I think my body knew that meat isn't for me. The main reason is that I realised that I feel so much better when I eat vegetables, fruits, nuts, cereals. Then I tried to ditch animal products from my diet. I have to take blood teste every 3 months because of an autoimmune disease and I was impressed with the results. After 2 months of vegan diet, my inflammation level was lower, closer to normal, I felt energized, happier. So I'd say that I became a vegan for health reasons.
Me: Do you take supplements?
Her: Of course! I have to take D3, Mg and K because of the autoimmune disease, but I also take Omega-3 and vitamin B12.
Me: Do you think that everyone should follow this lifestyle?
Her: We're built differently. I know that your body is okay with consuming animal products, mine isn't, others can't eat dairy, eggs or fish. I am sure that people aren't eating enough vegetables and fruits and consume too much meat, processed meat, eggs and milk. So, no, I don't think that everyone would become a vegan. Everyone should find their personalised way to be the healthiest they can. (And let's be honest, more vegans means less plant based milk for me :D )
Zac Efron
ReplyDeleteThe actor started eating a vegan back in 2018 and feels healthier than ever. He told Teen Vogue, “[Veganism] completely changed the way that my body works, and the way that I metabolize food, the way it turns into energy, the way that I sleep. It’s been brilliant. It’s been great for my exercise, and great for my routine.”
