PANDEMY AND NUTRITION

The pandemic did not mean much of a challenge for me, my lifestyle was generally more restless, and the meals did not vary much.
At the beginning of the pandemic it was hard for me to get used to a new schedule: I slept much too much and often skipped breakfast, went to bed late and during the day I didn't know how to organize my time, so I wasted hours doing the same thing.
Because of this little chaos, my general health began to change: I started to lose weightt, I felt tired all the time, I lost my motivation to do activities etc.
What made me change was the virus itself; seeing that I feel very weak, I decided to eat more fruits and vegetables, to make a sleep program and when I feel good I will exercise.
Since then I try to keep the same program and I feel much better and more organized.

I can say that the pandemic, especially the state of emergency in March, made me realize how important friends and family are. Also, along this period I tried to change my lifestyle - to do more sports and eat healthier.
I started doing sports at home for about an hour a day and eating as many fruits and vegetables as possible, especially salads and getting hydrated. I started drinking home-made fruit juices and lots of herbal teas. After the state of emergency passed, I started running in the park and spending as much time in nature as possible. Sport helped me stay fit and be an active person during the day.
In conclusion, the pandemic did not change my lifestyle, but made me more responsible and more careful about myself and the way I eat.

When the pandemy caused others to gain weight and change their lifestyle in a bad way, for me it was very beneficial. I had more time to exercise for longer minutes, to plan my meals, to drink more water. I became more organised and I've lost weight and then I've maintained it. Maybe this pandemy affected more my social life and my mental health because I couldn't go anywhere, meet my friends and everyday was incredibly boring. But it was good on the other hand for my nutrition and exercising.

  4. Life slowed down for me due to the pandemic. I moved home from town to village, where life was not very eventful. It brought a lot of calm to my life, and had a positive effect on almost everything in my life. It was pretty easy for me to get used to this new lifestyle, schedule. I organized my time very efficiently and I didn’t feel like I didn’t have time for nothing like I used to. I focused my attention and my time at these time in learn, sports and eating healthy.
I always cooked at home for my dad and my sisters. I knew what I was cooking & why, how it’s affects our health and that these foods strengthens our immune systems against the virus. I didn’t snack during this period, these dishes I prepared helped me maintain a sustainable and healthy lifestyle, which I have been following ever since.

  5. The whole world stopping because of a pandemic was a big shock for me. I suddenly had all the time in the world and I had no idea what to do with it. At the beginning of the state of emergency I felt really lost and bored. Then I tried to focus more on the little things in life that could bring me joy. Exercising was my favourite way of killing time during the pandemic. Cooking and eating nutritious meals together with my family made me feel less lonely, although I really missed the social life I had before last March. I also managed to fix my sleeping schedule which was quite chaotic for a long time. The small changes I made in terms of exercising and my diet had made a difference, and I’m thankful that I had the opportunity to focus a bit more on these things.

For me personally, this viral period was very good because I was able to pay more attention to myself. I lost a lot of kilograms (10) during the quarantine. It wasn’t hard to keep my diet because I couldn’t really go anywhere, so I didn’t have to take anything away from myself. I also managed to do well in training at home, 4-5 times a week. I would continue to do the same diet and training in the same way to achieve my dream weight.

For me, the pandemic did not have such a big impact.
However, many people were severely affected.
Many people spent most of their time at home, and frustration and stress made them eat as much and unhealthy as possible. I noticed that people consumed a lot of processed products, snacks, sweets and sour juices.
I personally continued my healthy lifestyle. I had more time for myself. But the vast majority of people did the exact opposite.

Being in love with travelling, walking, nature and coffee dates made this pandemy very hard for me. Even if we've survived the lockdown, the actual situation is still a little bit sad. I think we're all afraid, always, even if we don't realise and don't pay attention to it. We're afraid because our loved ones could get sick, we're afraid because we could get the virus, we're afraid because everything is unsure.
I would describe the quarantine as a period that was good and bad at the same time for me. I had more time for myself, I spent more time with my family, I could bake, cook all day long, but I couldn't go out, I couldn't see my friends.
However, let's talk about the positive side of it. I made plenty of healthy food, worked out a lot, tried new recipes, found healthier versions of traditional foods. I had food, a roof above my head, a comfy bed and my family by my side, so even if it was scary and sad for me, I was in safety.

For me this period was a bit hard, because I've missed my friends, my everyday routine, like waking up at 7 o'clock, or going to school.Even so being all day at home made me to do things that I wouldn't do if we hadn't been in quarantine, because I wouldn't have time to work out every day or clean up all the parts of the house. I had time to learn much more, I made my own diet to eat healthy foods. I've had time for me and my family but I would gladly go back to the time before the quarantine.

  10. A good diet is always important to me, but during the pandemic, it is even more important, because a well-balanced diet with nutritious foods helps to support a strong immune system. I ate exactly foods rich in whole grains, nuts, and healthy fats, such as olive, sesame, peanut, or other oils high in unsaturated fatty acids and a lot of water because hydration is very important to me.
