DEMISTIFYING MYHTS ABOUT DIETS, FOOD
When it comes to eating, people have different engrained stereotypes which they believe are hard to give up.
You are supposed to:
1. Give one such example of a myth/stereotype/misconception about food that your patient is bringing.
2. Find at least 2 contraarguments.
Do not write more than one paragraph and consider you are talking to one of your patients.
example:
I cannot eat food without salt, it is simply tasteless.
Counterargument:
1.Using spices and herbs, which are healthier, can make food more palatable.
2. Try fasting for a couple of days. In this way, information stored in your taste buds will be "deleted" and you will start appreciating again the natural taste of saltless foods.

In contrast to the olive oil The sunflower oil it is very law in Omega 3 fatty acids and they are essential our body.

Fasting can help you lose weight quickly. (MYTH!)
ReplyDeleteFACT: Fasting is not healthy if you go hungry all day and cap it off with a huge meal that replaces all the calories you skipped earlier. Compared to people who lose fat by eating fewer calories, people who fast lose more muscle than fat.
Look at your daily diet for empty calories you can cut out, such as refined grains and sugary drinks. Do not cut out meals entirely, especially without a doctor's supervision.
Coke Zero is a favorite choice for dieters worldwide because it's low calories and sugar content. All these people think they follow a healthier lifestyle mistakenly whilst they rather do harm than help. Weight gain, diabetes, insulin resistance and heart disease are just a few of the many side effects. Not to mention bloating and heartburn, which are common among most consumers.

ReplyDeleteSome people avoid consuming lactose , because they think it is harmfull, but contrary to this belief , lactose actually provides energy for the body, inhibits the growth of bacteria that cause rotting, and most important it stimulates calcium absorbtion

Many people think that drastic and short-term diets are effective, as they promise a quick and minimal weight loss. Totally false. These kinds of diets do nothing but damage the body through metabolic imbalances and especially bring back the lost weight shortly after their cessation. These fast diets are a trap for many people who want to lose weight.

Carbohydrates are bad for health.
ReplyDeleteCounterarguments:
1) “Good-carb” foods, such as whole grains, beans, fruits and vegetables are high in vital nutrients and fiber.
2) Carbs can help boost your mood by promoting the production of serotonin.
